Renewable Energy
With the rise in energy prices and the growing concern for a cleaner environment,
consumers are becoming more aware of renewable energy technologies. The
use of energy from plentiful sources such as the sun and wind has many
benefits - it reduces our dependence on fossil fuels, helps the environment
and ultimately saves consumers money.
State governments also have begun to take the initiative to mandate
utility companies to include renewable energy as part of their energy
resources. To a greater degree, these renewable resource standard policies
are becoming more and more a part of states’ overall energy policies
as fossil fuels, such as coal and natural gas, become scarcer resources
to provide energy.
To assist consumers in learning more about renewable energy, the OCC
